NCEE Supports Local Community Groups
LINCOLN, NEB. (April 2, 2009)-The local community is very important to the staff at NCEE Labs. To extend community outreach NCEE has recently supported three different groups in the Lincoln community. NCEE welcomed the IEEE Student Branch from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, for a tour of the testing facility. Hosted by Lab Manager, Doug Kramer, students were educated on the services provided, as well as receiving an up close look at the equipment used at NCEE. This experience allowed the students to become more familiar with the engineering field, in hopes to prepare them for opportunities that are available beyond their college education.
NCEE recently attended the ARRL (The American Radio Relay League) Nebraska State Convention on Saturday, March 21, 2009 in support of the Lincoln Amateur Radio Club. The event had a great turnout out, with an attendance of approximately 400 people. The convention facilitated communication between several NCEE staff members and many individuals with interest in amateur radio and the testing facilities at NCEE Labs.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Society of Women Engineers invited NCEE Labs to participate in their first Night with Industry event on April 1st. Engineers, Doug Kramer and Bob McElroy attended the networking event along with UNL students interested in the engineering field. Students had a chance to learn more about what the engineering field entails, while employers, like NCEE, were given the opportunity to interact with potential employees. NCEE proudly supports Lincoln area groups and the community while providing services that are beneficial to all.
