NCEE Labs 10-m Chamber above 1 GHz
NCEE’s 10-m Chamber Meets Site Requirements from 30 MHz to 14 GHz per CISPR 16 for a 2-m Diameter by 2-m High Volume
LINCOLN, NEB. (March 24, 2010)- NCEE Labs announced today that their 10-m semi-anechoic chamber has passed verification for having the capability of testing up to 14 GHz. This unique attribute is a great asset to NCEE Labs and the surrounding community, as they are one of the only labs in the country that feature this ability. Having this distinctive feature allows NCEE to be an industry leader, providing their customers with testing opportunities ahead of coming changes in technical requirements.
CISPR 16, which was first published in 1985, is an international standard for both radiated and conducted emissions testing. Many countries and different economies use this standard, with all of its amendments and changes, in their national and regional standards as a basis for defining equivalent testing locations. Under various international agreements, there are specific mandatory emissions standards for a wide range of electronic and electrical products.
The first amendment for the fifth edition of CISPR 22, a compliance standard for information technology equipment, made an extension to the frequency range for radiated emissions measurements to reach from 30 MHz up to 6 GHz. Starting in October 2010, radiated disturbance measurements up to 6 GHz will be mandatory for information technology equipment exported to many countries. Many examples of information technology equipment include: personal computers, MP3 Players, and data storage arrays. NCEE Labs’ testing range now reaches up to 14 GHz, unmistakably exceeding the CISPR 22 requirements. NCEE Labs’ capabilities surpass the set limits on this amendment, allowing them the opportunity to offer compliance testing for the current and foreseeable future requirements.
NCEE Labs is a product compliance, product safety, and environmental testing and consulting organization that serves aviation, information technology, wireless communications, industrial, scientific, medical, agricultural, and consumer products companies throughout the Midwest. Founded in 1998 to meet a growing demand for EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing, NCEE Labs houses one of the few public 10-m semi-anechoic chambers in the United States and is accredited by A2LA (American Association for Lab Accreditation) for EMC testing. NCEE Labs occupies a 15,700 square foot facility in the University of Nebraska Technology Park. For more information, visit www.nceelabs.com.
