NCEE Labs Featured as Regional Asset

LINCOLN, NEB. (January 28, 2010)- NCEE Labs was recently featured as a regional asset in an economic development study performed by Angelou Economics.

The study, which focused on regional demographics, economic trends, and specific industries in the Greater Lincoln Region, emphasized the importance of the electronics industry. Angelou Economics’ (October 2009) study found that, “With a location quotient more than twice the nation average, the electronics industry has been an important sector for the region, with everything from electronic control systems manufacturing to hardware design and engineering by companies such as Digitec.” (p. 33)

Founded in 1998, NCEE Labs has maintained a focus on helping the economic development of the region. NCEE Labs serves as a unique collaboration between industry, higher education, and government. This nonprofit organization was created to meet the growing demand for product compliance testing and consulting in the Great Plains area. The testing facility is designed for efficiency to give customers reliable, affordable, and on-time testing.

In addition, NCEE Labs provides educational growth to the community as a satellite of Southeast Community College. This role allows students to partake in classes about regulatory certifications, technologies, and additional, valuable information.
